About the Program

The Jiinue Growth Program in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation aims to bridge the funding gap for micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) in Kenya.

The Program combines financial support with customized technical assistance and a coordinated approach among various players in the entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Our Overall Target

Our overall target is 500,000 youth in work with 70% being young women, empowered with meaningful employment opportunities focusing on sustainable and inclusive growth across Kenya.

Our Objectives and Targets

JGP aims to provide dignified and fulfilling work for young entrepreneurs in Kenya, focusing on young women and men. The program’s key objectives include:

Tranforming microenterprises

To transform 175,000 microenterprises through strategic capital allocation driving a new error of entreprenueral success.

Providing young women artisans with financial inclusion

50,000 young women artisans benefitting

from inclusive finance, fostering equality

and prosperity in underserved communities.

Supporting small businesses with financing solutions

4,500 small businesses and 225,000 microenterprises supported with growth-oriented financing solutions, creating a robust environment for innovation and enterprise.

Supporting member organizations’ institutional capacity

JGP partners become more knowledgeable about MSMEs, especially those led by young people to outlast the program.

Expanding reach to young underserved people

JGP partners have a deeper understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities the young and underserved face to enable them to provide more effective support post the program.

JGP collaborates with a team of specialist partners led by the fund manager Grassroots Business Fund, Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, GROOTS Kenya, Kenya Private Sector Alliance, 4G Capital, Powered by People, and DT Global, each with a unique role in ensuring its successful execution.
